What is Go Wansbeck?

Go Wansbeck is the name of the Wansbeck LEGI Programme. This is a long–term Government backed initiative commencing in 2007 and is designed to create a more enterprising culture; support local business growth and attract new investment and employment opportunities for the benefit of local people.

Our 10 year LEGI Programme is receiving £11.8m over its first three years from government to boost business and encourage everyone, whatever their age, to get involved in making their communities more enterprising.

Partners from education, business, voluntary, community and public sector are committed to work together to realise new opportunities for enterprise in Wansbeck.

For up to date information on specific services supported through Go Wansbeck please see the contact details on each section.

OUR VISION

Working with our partners we aim by 2017 to have:

  • Increased Wansbeck’s self employment rate by 25%.
  • Increased the stock of VAT registered business per 10,000 population by over 30%.
  • Reversed the trend in private sector job loss by increasing private sector jobs by 25%.
