Chance to Change

Date: 22nd February, 2010: 3pm - 8pm

Venue: Newcastle Civic Centre

Outline:The current economic downturn has affected many individuals across the region who have previously not been impacted including those at a senior and middle management level, from an apparently ‘safe’ corporate, professional or public sector background.
Chance to Change is for those people who have been made redundant or are under threat of redundancy and are considering setting up their own venture as an alternative to seeking another employer.
There will also be people who are considering making the change from being an employee to setting up their own venture through choice – and again Chance to Change is the ideal opportunity for them.
In addition, we are keen to attract entrepreneurs who are looking for new opportunities – either because their existing businesses or projects are ticking along or because they may face insurmountable threats.
Delegates could be at any life stage and background – although our key audience is middle and senior managers who have the experience and skills that would position them well to run their own venture or work in partnership or collaboration with others.
There are really no restrictions on who can attend – especially where there is a drive and desire to do something but a lack of understanding as to how to get started or to address the challenges and barriers.
Delegates don’t need to have an idea already and they don’t need to have a business plan or finance in place.
