The brightly coloured pages are packed full of advice for people keen to take advantage of the business support on offer from Go Wansbeck and also explore the newly completed commercial property now available in the area.
Ashington-born Sir John has always been a firm supporter of Go Wansbeck, which has just passed two major milestones: the birth of its 100th new business and the celebration of a million pounds of funding given to support local businesses.
On a visit to his hometown, as well as seeing the first newsletter off the press, Sir John enjoyed getting up to date with the progress being made by Go Wansbeck in developing an enterprising culture among people of all ages.
He said: “It is less than two years since Go Wansbeck started out and its achievements to date have been fantastic. Historically, business people have had to move away from the area to fulfil their ambitions. There is unquestionably a new spirit of enterprise running through Wansbeck.”
Keith Raine, Go Wansbeck’s programme manager, said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to update Sir John. Not only is it very valuable to have his support, he is a fantastic role model for people – like him from the Wansbeck area – who want to be successful in business.”
