BUSINESS SUPPORT GOES MOBILE

Businesses across south east Northumberland will be able to take advantage of a mobile advice service when a team of business experts hit the road later this month.

The team at the Procurement Centre provide support and assistance to local businesses helping them to benefit from opportunities available through local councils and health authorities.

These public bodies require a wide range of goods and services from catering to vehicle maintenance, which can be provided by local businesses. The Procurement Centre tour is focusing on making people aware of the opportunities that are available to them and how to take advantage of the contracts on offer.

For three days from the 24 November the team will be touring the industrial estates in south east Northumberland in a special mobile unit, operating a free drop-in advice service for local businesses who want to find out more.

Joanna Urwin, Business Development Coordinator at the Procurement Centre, said: “Many businesses are unaware of the range of opportunities that are available to them through local authorities.  We are offering free information and advice which will explain how people can increase their sales and profits by taking advantage of the opportunities on offer.”                                                                                                                                   

Keith Raine, Go Wansbeck programme manager, said: “One of Go Wansbeck’s principal aims is to encourage local people to grow their businesses and I would encourage businesses keen on finding out more about winning new contracts to visit the team as they tour the area.”
